Period 1


Report

My team is called "The Beauties and the Beasts" and our task was to interview a few students and ask them their opinion about the importance that English has got in the present. Later, we wrote a report using all the information that we collected from the interviews. Each team commented the other videos.




Comments



Reflection
Our report was good but we ran out of vocabulary, that is why we repeated a lot of words; also I think that it was quite short and the information didn't have a great quality. We will try to look for synonyms so we don't use the same words all the time and we will create better questions for the interviews in order to get better information.






E-mail

With the same teams, we had to send an e-mail to a foreign friend that was coming to Vietnam (country where we pretended to live), it should include some recommendations of entertainment places, historical sites and restaurants that he/she could visit during his/her trip. The teacher evaluated with a rubric, we got 95 because we exceeded the number of words required.

Reflection
We did a great job, while we were writing the e-mail, all the members came up with fantastic ideas; the only problem was that we exceeded the number of words allowed. We will try to sinthesize the main ideas in order to write shorter paragraphs.




Extra activity
I wrote an essay showing the advantages and disadvantages of using animals for scientific tests, how much they suffer and if the pain is worth it.



Reflection
I did a great job because the information I got was well-organized in four paragraphs, I used some phrasal verbs and that means that I am learning new words and that my English level is a little bit higher.


Final Reflection
I like the team of which I am part of, I really love the way we work together. Our strength is that we get good ideas because of the opinion of each one of us and that we join our English knowledge in order to avoid grammar or vocabulary mistakes. Our weaknesses are that we use the same words that we have been using since we were kids, and that we look for basic information. We can improve by searching for new and non-common words so we can make better writings, also we should look for reliable and advanced information even though it takes more time.





Period 2

Vocabulary video

Our task was to write an script and make a video using the vocabulary words of Unit 6, the teacher gave us a rubric with our grade, we got a 100 because we didn't have mistakes in grammar or spelling, the paragraphs had sense and the whole script was creative.

Reflection
I think that we worked very well because we managed to finish the script in less than 2 hours, the most difficult thing was to make the video but we finished it on time. The best part of everything was that we had no mistakes in the text and in the recorded voice.




Extra activity
I wrote an informal letter to a friend that is coming in a few weeks, I mentioned some stuff that we can do together whe she arrives and I asked her for a CD that has just been released in USA.



Reflection 
I didn't remember how the structure for an informal letter was so I investigated it, that is why I took more time to write the letter but it was easy to put together the ideas. I used easy vocabulary words and each of the paragraphs had the right information and form.



Final Reflection
During the semester I worked with a great team and I think that we functioned very well. We improved our spelling and grammar by doing writings tasks. Our stregth was that each of us knew different words and that we combined them in order to write better paragraphs with a higher level of English. Our weakness was that we did everything at the last moment and we were stressed because of that, but if we get organized we can finish all the tasks on time.
